Sarasota Award Program Honors the Achievement
SARASOTA August 15, 2023 -- Meridian West Central College has been selected for the 2023 Best of Sarasota Award in the Private College category by the Sarasota Award Program.
Each year, the Sarasota Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Sarasota area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2023 Sarasota Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Sarasota Award Program and data provided by third parties.
The Sarasota Award Program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Sarasota area. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value.
The Sarasota Award Program was established to recognize the best of local businesses in our community. Our organization works exclusively with local business owners, trade groups, professional associations and other business advertising and marketing groups. Our mission is to recognize the small business community's contributions to the U.S. economy.

As part of the Department of Education requirements,
nursing students must spend a certain number of hours
each year working in various health care institutions
under the guidance of professional nurses, in environments
such as hospitals, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers.
We were pleased to receive the following letter from one of the nursing professionals that guided our students during a part of their recent clinical rotation. They also pointed out the current dire need for more nurses.
I have had the pleasure to meet the students from your school and the instructor.
The students are so eager to learn and asking questions. They are a great bunch. They watched me change a chest port huber needle and dressing change. Also they observed me placing a wound vac. I wish them all the very best and hope to meet them again and watch them succeed as nurses in the community. We sure do need them.
